There are certain aspects you must consider when selecting the best gas tariff for you. Before helping you to choose the perfect tariff, we want you to know the difference between retailers and distributors; retailers are the companies with which you sign up for your gas contract. They measure your usage and send you your bills. Each customer is free to choose a retailer and the tariff which best suits their needs. There are two categories: deregulated market retailers and last resort retailers (comercializadoras de último recurso (TUR).
Distributors: these companies are responsible for the supply. They transport the energy to your home and ensure it is always available. They also repair any faults.
Now you know the difference, all you need to do is select the tariff that suits you best. At Endesa, we want to help and guide you through every step of the contractual process, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
One Gas Tariff: no lock-in period and no commitments.
The One Gas Tariff allows you to withdraw whenever you like, with no penalties of any kind. However, it is important to note that the initial contract has a one-year term, with automatic renewal.
It’s important not to confuse a change of retailer (the company with which you have a contract and which issues your bills) with signing up for a gas supply. You only need to sign up for a gas supply when there is no gas in your home or premises, either because it is a new build or because the supply has been cut off for some other reason.
Changing gas retailer is quick and simple. If you’ve decided to sign up for gas with Endesa, we’ll show you what steps to follow:
See our natural gas tariffs and choose the one that best suits your needs.
Gather together the necessary documents that we will ask you for to be able to change your retailer.
That’s all you need to do. We’ll take care of all the formalities free of charge and ensure you don't spend a single day without gas. We’re here to streamline the process and guarantee a problem-free transition.
It’s easy to find your CUPS number, because it is printed on all your electricity and gas bills. You can find it on any bill in the “Contract details” section. As well as the contract holder, contracted power and other information, you’ll see the 20 or 22 character CUPS code. If you don't have access to any bills, the contract holder can contact the retailer. Just provide your name, DNI and the address of the property to get the CIPS code easily and quickly.
Remember that the gas CUPS identifies the supply point, never a person, and is made up as follows:
ES: The first two characters represent the abbreviation for Spain, identifying the supply country.
XXXX: the next four digits are unique to the retailer. Each one is assigned a specific code by the Ministry of Energy.
XXXXXXXXXXXX: the next twelve numbers are assigned by the retailer to identify the final supply point, in other words, your home or business.
Additional letters: if there are two or more letters with the code, don't worry. They are a crucial indicator for controlling and detecting potential errors in the energy supply.
Each component in the CUPS code has a specific role in the precise identification of the electricity supply, thus guaranteeing an efficient, safe service.
There is no standard term for installing a meter and signing up for the gas supply. It depends upon the location and the specific characteristics of the installation.
Normally, the standard term for arranging an electricity supply is between five and seven business days. However, this term can change in exceptional circumstances or because of the specific nature of the installation in question.
The date of your first gas bill from Endesa will depend on your gas billing cycle. The following is a general guide:
It is essential to note that these times are estimates and have been calculated based on the various contract applications throughout the year. However, there may be variations. If there is a delay, don’t worry. Several circumstances can affect the receipt of your first bill.
Remember that we will always keep you informed until you receive your first bill. We will send you a reminder that includes details of your tariff and/or the products you have signed up for, and we will provide you with additional information to help you better understand your gas usage.
